An excellent road network connects the industrial area with the city centers of the neighbour communities as well as Munich, the regional capital. Two S-Bahn stations connect the location Unterschleißheim/Lohhof with the regional/national public transportation. The travel time from Unterschleißheim to Munich´s central station is 24 minutes and Freising can be reached within 16 minutes taking the S-Bahn.
The S-Bahn line S1 connects Unterschleißheim/Lohhof directly with Munich Airport- Franz Josef Strauß via Neufahrn.

The City of Unterschleißheim is a member of the association "Wirtschaftsraum Südbayern. Greater Munich Area e.V.
The Greater Munich Area with its large centers in Munich, Augsburg and Ingolstadt is one of the economically strongest regions in Germany with 5 m residents and 2.6 m employees. Its potential is based on its broad economic basis, which contains modern high-tech industries next to traditional economic sectors. This area is represented by the "Wirtschaftsraum Südbayern. Greater Munich Area e.V.", a regional cooperation of important municipal and private economic players in South Bavaria. The association changed its name from "Wirtschaftsraum Südbayern. München. Augsburg. Ingolstadt. (MAI)" to "Wirtschaftsraum Südbayern. Greater Munich Area e.V." in June 2005. Unterschleißheim has been an active member since 1996. One of the association´s most important tasks is the regional marketing for the entire area. The association represents the Greater Munich Area at fairs, panel discussions, on the Internet, in the press, surveys and brochures.
